Born and raised in Connecticut, Miss Rachel discovered her dancing shoes at the age of two. As she grew she went on to study dance in Wallingford, CT where she won the Best All Around Award for the studio, along with various awards from competitions in her elementary years. After moving to a new town before the start of middle school, she started her journey with Doreen’s Dance Center.
During her time at DDC, she enjoyed helping with some of the younger classes and received training in the styles of ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, pointe, hip-hop, and musical theater, and was invited to join Doreen’s Dance Company. Miss Rachel felt grateful for all of her training and was ecstatic to receive the Stage Presence Award on two occasions: the first as part of a tap trio and the second as an individual.
After graduating high school Miss Rachel started her undergraduate career with Eastern Connecticut State University and joined the dance team, where she performed at college basketball games and competed in the the NDA Collegiate National Championship. While in school she also completed a ballroom dance course and often offered a helping hand to assist the teacher. In the fall of her sophomore year she’d heard of an opportunity for a chance to work at Walt Disney World, and after an extensive audition process she’d been selected in a group of 3 out of 300+ candidates to participate in the Disney College Program as a performer.
Miss Rachel holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Social/Behavioral Science and enjoys providing others with support and care. She is excited to come back to her roots, now joining Doreen’s Dance Center as a part-time teacher. Miss Rachel hopes to help each and every student feel welcome and to help them grow and thrive both as dancers and individuals.
